As the leading international consumer goods trade fair, Ambiente in Frankfurt offers the major market place for the global contract business and hospitality sector. In 2024, Ambiente was held concurrently with the consumer goods fairs Christmasworld and Creativeworld in Frankfurt. Together, the trade fair trio gave the platform to about 5,000 exhibitors that presented their solutions on over 360,000 square metres to more than 140,000 visitors. Participants from 170 countries and regions cemented the latest mega event from January 26 to 30 as the quintessential place to go for ‘everything living, giving, working and dining’ in the world. With a strong focus on the hospitality and contract business it is clear: Ambiente is the business hub for hospitality projects at any scale.

In the focus: the hospitality sector and contract business
For inspired, brand-strengthening design experiences in the world of hospitality, Ambiente brings together all relevant global market players: Real estate developers, interior designers, planners and professionals from the hospitality industry can meet partners for projects at any scale in any relevant product segment: from tableware, glass and kitchen supplies to living accessories and interior design, from customizable serial products for hospitality projects to new work solutions. As the leading platform for the front-of-house business, the special interests ‘contract business’ and ‘HoReCa’ (hotel, restaurant and catering industry) present forward-thinking concepts and cutting-edge design for the global hospitality industry.

From experts for experts: the Hoteliers’ Day
The fringe programme is a valuable source of inspiration and expert insights. With the new “Hotelier’s Day”, Ambiente puts the hospitality industry even more into the spotlight: The themed day includes trend tours and special programmes at selected exhibitor stands. The HoReCa Academy invites to exciting presentations, intensive dialogue and personal networking. This year, Jozef Youssef, the award-winning celebrity chef and creative force behind the design studio Kitchen Theory, kicked off the get-together on Hotelier’s Day. Under the title ‘The power of colour: How coloured tableware influences the perception of food’, he had conducted a survey exclusively for Ambiente trade fair. On ‘Hotelier’s Day’, he served his findings hot along with a specially created finger-food menu.

The Lounge
At the crossroads of interior design, the hospitality industry and contract business, Ambiente 2024 launched another new show highlight: The award-winning Italian product designer and artist Elena Salmistraro designed The Lounge – A Serious Game. With this special presentation, Salmistraro designed her playful vision of a lounge as a vibrantly colourful space of encounters. The Lounge as a platform for exhibitors’ latest products arranged in an inspirational setting is a themed hub that encourages an exchange on contemporary design in the world of hospitality: Make sure you meet up at Ambiente 2025!

Ambiente reflects the decisive international trends in the consumer goods sector. Whether Dining, Living, Giving or Working – it shows what will be on the table in the future, what will belong in living and working spaces and what will be given as gifts.
