Sustainable catering with IET Venues

We believe that events are powerful opportunities to shape the future. Our state-of-the-art event spaces IET London: Savoy Place and IET Birmingham: Austin Court are staffed by attentive, knowledgeable, and personable teams who deliver incredible experiences to every guest who walks through the doors. But we want to give back too, and both our venues have committed to become net zero by 2030. From repurposing carpet and supplying local charities with gifted LEGO sets to ensuring our waste is kept to a minimum, our venues are working to become as sustainable as possible.

One area in which we are making positive impact without compromising on quality is our catering.

Food brings people together – whether it’s nibbling on tasty canapés at a networking event or a seated fine dining experience at a large conference. People bond over these experiences and our aim is to consistently exceed customer expectations to create memorable events.

That’s why our flexible menus have options for every occasion, from simple finger foods to tantalising multi-course meals. We work closely with our catering partners Searcys and Amadeus Food to source fresh, seasonal ingredients to create delicious, sustainable dishes.

We use local suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint and enable our talented chefs to create dishes that highlight the wonderful produce grown and raised right here in our communities. We also collaborate with London-based Extract Coffee Roasters to offer specialty coffee blends sourced directly from organic cooperatives, supporting sustainable practices from bean to cup.

To further our commitment to sustainability we incentivise the chef’s choice of menu, and all edible food is offered to staff to consume on site at the end of the day. Any leftover food waste can then be recycled and converted into renewable resources such as electricity, heat, and organic fertiliser.
