Founded in 2021 by Andy Samuel, Shipyard Gin honours the legacy of his grandfather, John, a skilled plater at Scott’s Shipbuilding & Engineering on the Clyde. Known for his delicious elderberry wine, John’s recipe was the inspiration behind our award-winning Shipyard Gin.
Shipyard Gin is a traditional London Dry gin with a burst of citrus on the nose from orange, lemon, and lime peel botanicals. Foraged gorse flower from the banks of the Clyde imparts hints of coconut and vanilla, while moorland heather and elderflower add a touch of floral sweetness.
Exciting future plans include building a distillery on the very site where John once worked in Greenock. The new facility will feature a distillery, event space, and tasting room, all constructed from repurposed shipping containers.
