Graphenstone is again joining the Surface Design Show for the 2025 edition, showing how its sustainable air purifying paints are one of the best carbon-saving solutions for those in the hospitality design sector seeking ‘best-in-class’ materials.
With a fast-growing client roster that includes a host of trusted names, including Colicci, GAIL’s Bakery, The Ashmolean Museum and The Eden Project, Graphenstone has been showing those in the interior and materials procurement sector how its carbon-capturing paints can positively impact their design schemes.
Fusing traditional raw materials such as lime, calcium carbonates and natural minerals with Graphene, one of the planet’s most robust inert carbon fibres, this combination results in a coating with Class 1 durability, helping reduce refurbishment costs whilst improving indoor air quality.
Graphenstone’s unique mineral-based formulations mean that its lime paints actively sequester CO2 as they cure (the majority during the first 30 days following application), helping to purify the air. When comparing EPD and carbon footprint data to industry standard paint figures, using Graphenstone paints can show a significant CO2e saving, amounting to several tonnes when used in projects of scale.
Graphenstone’s latest colour collaboration also sees a new range from Karen Howes and Jane Landino who in celebration of 30 years in the design industry, have launched a new sister brand ‘Howes & Landino’.
Karen and Jane were first introduced to Graphenstone five years ago and were deeply impressed by the brand’s unwavering commitment to sustainability. The company is one of the first paints in the world to be certified by Cradle to Cradle, a holistic, rigorously assessed framework, empowering a shift to a circular economy by setting the global standard for ‘harm free ‘materials’ that positively impact people and planet.
The new colour collection is called ‘The Couture Collection’, a thoughtful selection of 30 paint shades inspired by some of the fabrics that have helped shape their design journey. Thirty paints commemorating thirty years in business. The collection is available in three highly sustainable finishes: Ambient Pro+, GrafClean and GrafClean Eggshell.
Also, on display are 16 new shades, developed as part of a unique partnership with the Royal Ballet and Opera. They chose to work with Graphenstone due to its ‘impeccable sustainable credentials’. Jane Storie, Commercial Director at Royal Ballet and Opera, said, “Whilst many paints are natural, what set Graphenstone apart was the addition of Graphene, a Nobel prize-winning material that means the paint is also fit for purpose. It is extremely strong and hardwearing, essential for one of the world’s busiest performance houses.”
Working with its in-house colour consultant, Graphenstone will also present three new colour stories that align with the season ahead. The three stories, ‘Smoked Green and Gold’, ‘Sophisticated Rouge’ and ‘Nostalgic Nod’, each will see a key hero colour paired with two additional directional accent colours.

Visitors to the show will be able to try out the new combinations using Graphenstone’s revolutionary ‘Peel and Stick’ sustainable colour samples. These 2D colour ‘stickers’ use 30% recycled materials, are 100% recyclable and use around 94% less paint than the average sample pot. Featuring tiny suction cups that provide a practical low-tack solution, designers and material librarians can show clients and colleagues their perfect colour combinations quickly on-site without having to lug around heavy and messy sample pots.
You can now discover Graphenstone’s main paints ranges, Ashmolean Collection and new Peel and Stick colour samples in selected branches of Brewers Decorator Centres (Abingdon, Barnstaple, Cambridge North, Cheltenham, Exeter, Leicester Freemans Common, Louth, Maidenhead, Putney, Trowbridge, Surbiton, and York), with a wider branch roll out expected.
Plant a Tree with Every Swatch
For every £1.50 colour sample sold, Graphenstone will plant a tree in collaboration with Switch2Zero, supporting Brewers’ commitment to sustainability.
