London Wing Fest lands at London Stadium for a three-day celebration of all things wings
This July, the world’s biggest and most popular chicken wing festival will land in London for a saucy showdown, paying homage to the almighty chicken wing. London Wing Fest will take place on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July at the London Stadium in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Now in its 11th year, Wing Fest is a fiery feast of flavours, competition and entertainment, championing the very best independent traders and restaurants from across the UK. Over the course of the weekend, 45 street food heroes, BBQ teams, pop-ups and restaurants will serve up a jaw-dropping 500,000 chicken wings, all competing for the prestigious titles of Best Buffalo Wing, Best Wild Wing, and Best BBQ Wing.
The judging line-up for 2025 features Natty Can Cook, recently named Condé Nast Traveller’s “chef to watch” alongside Michelin-starred chef Andy Beynon of Behind in Hackney, Korean-American chef, author, and TV host Judy Joo, alongside US comedian and self-confessed wing fanatic Tim Shropshire, to name just a few. Festival-goers will also be able to cast their votes in real time across all three categories as part of the coveted People’s Choice Awards.
This year, VIP ticket holders are in for a very special treat – Japan’s legendary wing master Taro Noguchi will be flying in from Osaka to serve up his world-famous charcoal-grilled wings, exclusively in the VIP area.
Entertainment includes an array of epic eating competitions, flame fueled theatrics, and BBQ demonstrations from some of the best in the business, including Dragon’s Den winners, LumberjAxe. It’s set to get seriously heated with the deadly Lava Wing Challenge – the UK’s hottest wing challenge and renowned for the carnage it causes. If you’re a true wing aficionado, then it’s time for the Flying Goose Wing Eating Competition, where speed, stamina and serious appetite collide in a race to demolish the most wings in record time.
At the heart of Wing Fest is the story of founder and wing enthusiast Richard Thacker. Growing up in a family of chicken farmers, Richard began his journey as a street food trader with a deep love for wings and a mission to spotlight the UK’s independent food scene.
This year’s Wing Fest is proudly supported by a sizzling lineup of sponsors, including Deliveroo, who is offering prizes for all of the winning traders. Not just a festival for Wing aficionados, expect plenty of beer from Beavertown, and utter sauciness from the Flying Goose Brand. Entertainment includes fairground rides, axe throwing, bourbon masterclasses, challenges and competitions, arcades, alongside live music – best enjoyed with a wing or two in hand.
