The hotel describes itself as having a “regency spirit” and every aspect of its interior design pays homage to this tradition through craftsmanship and meticulous detail, creating an elegant and welcoming ambience. Every piece in The Lanesborough plays a role in how guests experience the hotel, from the moment they check in.
New additions to the hotel must artfully blend historical charm with modern luxury. When Hello of Mayfair Interiors was commissioned to design and craft a new principal concierge desk for the hotel, the challenge was clear. We needed to capture this vision with a bespoke concierge desk that honoured its magnificent 19th-century architecture while making it visually appealing to today’s discerning traveller.
Our team has over two decades of experience in furniture design and we called upon their expertise to create an exquisite replica of an antique concierge desk before upgrading it with modern technological enhancements. The goal was to craft a bespoke piece that would live harmoniously within the hotel, capturing its timeless appeal and complementing its historic architecture.
From grand statement furniture in the main halls to subtle, atmospheric pieces in the guestrooms, The Lanesborough’s furniture plays a vital role in shaping the guest experience. This new bespoke concierge desk is no exception.
Upon arrival, guests are now welcomed by a striking mahogany and rosewood concierge desk that sets the tone for their stay at this iconic London address. The desk features impressive elements, including two PC touchscreen monitor lifts, allowing for a 15 to 30-degree tilt, controllable via remote or manual operation.
What sets us apart at Hello of Mayfair Interiors is our dedication to traditional craftsmanship. Our skilled artisans use time-honoured techniques, from intricate joinery to meticulous finishing, to ensure each piece reflects the essence of the space they’ll come to occupy. These skills were put on full display during the creation of The Lanesborough’s new concierge desk.
We created thoughtfully designed drawers with a lockable charging docking drawer for mobiles and tablets, equipping the desk with 14 power units, including dual USB-C and USB-A ports, and full LED lighting with multiple colour options to enhance its aesthetic if desired.
The result is a bespoke concierge desk that feels both timeless and current – just like the hotel it now calls home.
The Lanesborough’s interiors, enhanced by this bespoke craftsmanship, are a celebration of detail, design, and ambience. This concierge desk isn’t just a point of service, but a cornerstone of identity and atmosphere.
